Types of cement
Types of cement
Types of cement produced in Iran and its uses
1. Portland Cement Type 1 (Ordinary Portland Cement) P.C – type I:
Used in cases where no special properties like other types of cement are desired.
2. Portland cement type 2 (P.C – type II):
For general use as well as special use in cases where moderate hydration heat is desired.
3. Portland cement type 3 (P.C – type III):
For use in situations where high resistances are desired in the short term.
4. Portland cement type 5 (P.C – type V):
Used when high resistance to sulfates is desired.
5. White Cement:
For use on the surface of buildings and when the use of colorless cements with high strength is required. This cement is used in the production of colored cements.
6. Anti-sulfate slag cement: (SR. Slag Cement):
Used when moderate resistance to sulfates or moderate hydrated heat is desired.
7. Portland-Pozzolani Cement (P.P.Cement):
In conventional concrete buildings, it is mostly used in cases where moderate resistance to sulfates and moderate hydration heat are considered.
8. Portland Cement – Limestone (P.K.Z.Cement):
This type of cement can be used in the preparation of mortar and concrete in all cases where Portland cement type 1 is used. Improves durability against freezing, thawing, freezing salts and chemical agents.
9. Masonry Cement:
For use when a mortar with lower strengths than Portland cement type 1 is required.
10. Refractory Cement 450 (Rf Cement 450):
Containing more than 40% Al2O3 with hydroxyl bonding and calcium aluminate phases, it is used as a refractory material in the thermal industry.
11. Rf Cement 500:
Containing more than 70% Al2O3 with hydroxyl bonding and CA2, CA phases, it is used as a high purity refractory material in thermal industries and CO.H2 atmospheres.
12. Refractory cement 550 (Rf Cement 550):
Contains more than 80% Al2O3 with hydroxyl bond and calcium aluminate as the main compound, has high refractory and thermomechanical properties and special refractory applications such as hydrogen reduction atmospheres.
13. Oil well cements:
These cements are used to seal oil wells. Most of these cements are durable and resistant to high temperatures and pressures. This cement may also be used in water and sewage wells.
14. Waterproof Portland cements:
This cement is produced in white and gray. This type of cement reduces capillary water transfer under slight or no pressure, but does not capture the water vapor transfer jet.
15. Cement with set setting:
Cement is set and controlled by setting so that it can produce concrete with setting times from a few minutes to an hour.
16. Colored cements:
These cements are mostly decorative and cosmetic and are used in cement screening and symbolic concrete production.
